NEW YORK — A photographer from New York City was arrested Saturday on suspicion of posting intimate images of couples engaged in a wedding ceremony online, authorities said.
The photojournalist was arrested on charges of dissemination of nude photos of a person under 18, the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office said in a statement.
The arrest came less than a week after the arrest of photographer Scott Devereaux, who was charged with second-degree criminal possession of child pornography, the New York Daily News reported.
In a statement Saturday night, the city’s police commissioner said: “In the last month, we have arrested a number of people for posting inappropriate, potentially illegal photos of themselves online, and we are committed to preventing the dissemination of such images.”
Police have also been investigating a photo of a couple’s wedding ceremony at a church in Westchester County, New York, that appeared to be a sex act, the Times of London reported.
Devereux was charged Friday with second degree criminal possession, the paper said.
He had previously posted explicit photos of himself on social media.
A spokeswoman for Devereault did not immediately respond to a request for comment Sunday.
