The UK government’s Social Media Strategy Report has found that, if left to its own devices, social media is likely to become a bottleneck for the country’s economy.

It found that a lack of data is a key problem, with over 1.4 billion people accessing social media per month.

It is estimated that more than 90% of the people who are using social media are not actively using it.

The report recommends that the government should introduce a “user-friendly” dashboard where users can quickly find out what information they need and access to.

However, it says the dashboard would need to be in place before any new regulations are introduced. 

The report also recommended that social media companies should set up a social media analytics platform where users could see what content is being shared, what posts are being shared and what the users have actually seen.

The platform would also need to provide a way for users to report abuse and other issues, such as malicious activity, the report says. 

It also recommends that a government-backed social media company be set up to manage social media data and create a “social platform for the future”.

The report, by the Institute for Digital Citizenship, says that social networking should be used for “social good”. 

However, a spokesperson for the UK’s Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DDCMS) said the report’s recommendations do not necessarily mean a new social media policy is being introduced.

“The recommendations are intended to provide guidance to enable social media to be a good social platform,” a spokesperson said.

However the spokesperson said that “there is a real risk that the existing regulations will become outdated, as they are already being used by some businesses to do their bidding”. “

The social media dashboard The government’s recommendations on how to use social media in the UK, and how the social platform can be more user-friendly, are in line with recent studies from companies including LinkedIn and Facebook.

The government recommends that social networks should have a “shared purpose”, which would include a way to “give content creators a sense of ownership of their content, and provide users with more control over the content that they share”.

However, the government says that there needs to be “more detail” about what purpose a social network should serve, and that this needs to include a “sense of community”. 

Social networks could also be “used for marketing purposes”, with the government’s recommendation that a social platform could be used to provide an “unbiased picture of what is happening in the wider economy”.

However, the social network dashboard is not the only recommendation from the report, with the DDCMS also recommending that social network providers should set themselves up as “trustbusting organisations” and make sure they have a robust data security system in place.

The company says it wants social networks to be self-sustaining, so “a business can focus on what it needs to do and not worry about how to comply with the rules”. 

But some analysts have raised concerns that the social networks dashboard could lead to a situation where the “whats new” information can be seen by only a small group of users, leading to an over-reliance on social media.

“The report says there needs be a shared purpose, but the report doesn’t give a clear definition of that purpose,” said Tim O’Keefe, chief digital officer at digital agency OpenMedia.

“So a small percentage of users will only see content that is approved by a small number of companies, but those users are not being engaged in the purpose of the platform.” 

He said the social platforms dashboard could “lead to people thinking of the platforms as the only place where they can share their news, their views, and their opinions”.

“It can also lead to people using platforms to share a bunch of stuff, instead of sharing content that really matters.”

Social network platforms have been criticised for allowing users to post content from a range of sources, including news sources, videos, social networking pages and other social networks.

The DDCms report says that “these channels are not used for sharing information and often are used to facilitate abuse”.

The DDCMs report also recommends a “clear vision of the purpose and purpose-driven principles of social media”, and that social platforms should not be seen as “just a way” for people to communicate, but rather as “the medium of choice for people across the UK to share their ideas and experiences”.
